Parent Input

Answer the questions below by posting a comment. I would really appreciate your input.

1. What is the number 1 thing you would like to see me do for the school right now?
2. What are some of the areas you think Swannanoa can improve as a school?

I look forward to your thoughts.

  1. Hi Fraser

It would be great to have more reporting available to parents to see exactly where our children are at. Whether this is completed with the Astle testing (as at a previous school)or in another form.

It would also be great to be one of the first schools to test each student for "learning disabilities". I know National are looking at putting this into practice over the next few years but that may be too late for some students. The sooner a disability is picked up the sooner the school and parents can take action. There also needs to be information posted to parents on where they can access local help whether it is in the neighbourhood or through the wider community. I'm not sure if the school is aware of courses for children at the university? Our daughter completed the phonological awareness program there last year, we were all amazed at the progress she made from that.

Wish you all the best, you have definitely made a great impression on the children.

    Regards
    Lisa
